The 26th Symposium
The 26th Philippine Biodiversity Symposium, with the theme “New and Emerging Trends in Biodiversity Research and Conservation” is going to be held at the Ateneo de Manila University in Katipunan Avenue, Quezon City on 18-22 July 2017.
The Biodiversity Conservation Society of the Philippines (BCSP), formerly the Wildlife Conservation Society of the Philippines (WCSP), is a professional organization of wildlife researchers, managers, scientists and conservationists. It has the aim to advance biodiversity research and conservation in the Philippines by facilitating communication and contributing to improved research and conservation capabilities of those working on Philippine biodiversity particularly members of the association, and to increase public awareness, appreciation, and understanding of Philippine biodiversity. BCSP annually organizes the Philippine Biodiversity Symposium.
Ateneo de Manila University is an educational institution particularly engaged in activities that seeks sustainable development, environmental conservation, disaster mitigation and nation building. AdMU’s School of Science and Engineering in particular, envisions itself to be a recognized Southeast Asian center of higher learning with academic leaders engaged in service to the nation and global community through science, technology, and innovation. Moreover, the Department of Biology, a CHED accredited Center of Excellence, commits itself to distinct quality and leadership in academic research and higher education in the field of biodiversity, among others.
